Sacheon
Sacheoneupseong (Fort) located in Sacheoneup Seoninri of Sacheon is built with stones and soil. Of the 1.5㎞ circumference of the fort, about 300m remains now in three areas.
This fort was originally raised to protect the residents against the Japanese invasion. However, during Imjinweran (Japanese Invasion of Korea in 1592), it was taken over by the Japanese. In 1598, General Jeong Giryong fought off the Japanese in collaboration with the Ming troops.
There are many facilities within the fort such Chunghon Tower, Suyangroo, and Gwandeokjeong, the archery post, offering resting areas for the visitors.
