Don't forget that extra bit of flotation that a wetsuit provides. It can be very advantages, even to beginner swimmers. Just so long as it's not so much that the suit does all the floating.

The Reef sandals came into being as a result of the hard work and perseverance of two Argentinean brothers, Fernando and Santiago Aguerre. Throughout their childhood they tried their hand at different sort of businesses. When they grew older they discovered their passion for surfing and surfwear and decided to take it a step further when they opened a surf shop in their hometown in 1978. In the eighties, Santiago moved to California and partnered a surf shop there, so as to learn more about the business. By 1984, brother Fernando joined him in California and together they set up their defining brand, Reef. While initially, the brand was geared only towards sandals, today they have a collection on swim wear and clothes as well.

Of course, the best surfing to be found in the islands is on the north shore of Oahu, not in Waikiki, but if you are going to Hawaii to learn to surf, I suggest you start with the smaller, gentler waves of Waikiki.

Pick a proper surf board to learn on. Usually when you start out its on a bigger board or long board 8-10ft and as you improve you can move down in size.

Kids wetsuits come in different shapes as well as sizes and at the same time they come in some very attractive patterns. Some have long arms and legs while others are shorter variants. This variety helps the kids to choose the ones which are most suited for whatever aquatic environment that they most enjoy.

There are great beaches the world over, but where can you find, all in one place, a collection of colored beaches? On the Big Island and on Maui you can find black sand beaches. When you stand on the beach and the waves roll over your feet it looks like tar oozing. The Black Sand Beach on the Big Island is a great place to see turtles sunning themselves.

This is all about taking the hit. The wisdom of taking the hit from the white-water is obvious, you may get knocked back a short distance, but you won't ruin someone else's hard earned wave, or put yourself in danger of being run over. You will also quickly earn respect for doing this.
